Invisalign® Benefits

Invisalign® is a custom-designed series of clear plastic aligners specifically made to fit your teeth. They provide many of the same benefits as traditional metal braces, without the aesthetic drawbacks. Invisalign® aligners are virtually invisible, and can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. Invisalign® often takes less time than other orthodontic methods to achieve optimal results. Another benefit of Invisalign® is that the treatment typically does not require you to constantly come back to the dentist’s office for adjustments or fixes for broken wires and other common problems people can have with braces.

Invisalign® Process

In the first step of the Invisalign® process, Dr. Kevin Sands will take an impression of your teeth. This impression will ensure a custom-fit for the aligners. You will receive a series of individual trays. After wearing the first set for about two weeks, you will replace them with the next set in the series. Each set of Invisalign® clear teeth aligners is slightly modified to gradually straighten your teeth over a period of about 9 to 15 months. Although the aligners should be worn consistently throughout the day, they can be removed while eating, drinking, and teeth cleansing.

After the Invisalign® treatment process is over, your teeth should be realigned to a straighter position with beautiful results. And all without the hassle and discomfort that can sometimes accompany traditional metal braces!

Invisalign® is typically used in adult orthodontics, and is generally not suitable for children. However, Dr. Sands offers a variety of pediatric orthodontic treatments that can straighten your child’s teeth with exceptional results.
